this summer has been full. and good. we’ve not done a big vacation, nor will we check off every item on our bucket list. but we have run through sprinklers and we’ve crafted forts. we spent hours at the pool and put many miles on our car . we’ve enjoyed our new home, exploring this town that is fresh and full of possibilities.
the big camera hasn’t made many appearances this summer, my iphone and instagram have been a bit more handy and that’s okay with me. between the two mediums i feel pretty confident that i’ve documented well.
i hope some day in the years ahead my kids will look back on this season in our lives and think only of the memories we made together. the laughter and the good times. i hope that through the photos i take they can feel a tangible connection to their past, to their stories. even if they don’t recall specifics, the images will do that for them.
that’s why i shoot. that’s why i document.
