quinn + lavender & linen + giveaway.

four years ago (give or take) i met launa and she has been a source of sunshine and goodness since. when her lovely daughter kendra decided to follow her heart by opening her own vintage inspired shop, lavender & linen – and share her amazing talent with the world, i knew instantly i would be in love. and want to buy things. and then want to tell all my friends.

and i was.  and so i am.

i also thought it would be fun to share a few images of my sweet quinn in her own lavender & linen goodies. i was chomping at the bit to photograph her in her nana’s dress (circa 1963), along with my favorite quilt, a vintage 1940 double wedding ring. this was the perfect opportunity!

something i absolutely adore about kendra’s work is how she incorporates actual vintage materials to her work. i am a huge fan of anything with a good story to it (antique quilts, old paintings, vintage linens and things), and i might add that kendra’s clips are the only ones i don’t have to constantly put back into q’s soft as silk hair. love!

aw: tell us your name!
kv: kendra leann valente. i’m told it was chosen on the way to the hospital just in case i wasn’t a boy. pretty good for the spur of the moment huh?

aw: where can we find you online?
kv: website is www.mylavenderandlinen.com and the facebook page can be found here. hopefully we will have an etsy store up soon as well!

aw: using three words, how would you best describe yourself?
kv: hmm… inquisitive, stubborn and creative

aw: what inspired you to create Lavender & Linen?
kv: i started out by making little headbands for my mom’s newborn sessions and it just went from there as i started getting requests. now i also sell some of my products to a local antique store.

aw: which piece is your absolute favorite?
kv: Probably the Lady Cybil headband (notice the Downton Abbey reference.) i love the mix of the satin and flower print and the vintage-ness of it all.

aw: any exciting events or plans in the future for L & L?
kv: i had so much fun at the Safe Kids Baby Expo here in Columbus, Ga that we are heading to Atlanta in November for a Holiday Showcase and hopefully we will do some more later on. My dream career is to someday be a stay at home wife and mommy and I love that I have an opportunity to grow my business and help make some extra money from home.
